Hey Teacher Friend,
Guess what?
And if you’ve gathered anything about me, it’s that I’m pretty forward with what I think.
My husband and I agreed a long time ago that we would be upfront with anything that we would ever want for holidays and birthdays, and of course this time around was no exception.
And yes, I always send the link. So there is absolutely no guessing here.
In case you’re curious, this year’s request was a gold chain from one of my favorite jewelry shops, Made by Mary. I have a couple of chains, but they are so thin that they tangle with other necklaces, so I wanted one that would be able to layer without the tangle and to be able to swap out charms. If you are ever looking for great jewelry, I highly recommend www.madebymary.com.
Hopefully I’ll be opening it later today. We’ll see how it goes!
What I really wanted more than anything, though, was just a simple day with my husband and my dog. Walking around, grabbing coffee, popping into shops, and adventuring on a local trail.
And later we will cook out with my kids, parents, and grandma. So yeah, it's going to be a great day.
And in the spirit of celebrating, and maybe also because I like being very clear about what I want, I decided to do something special.
Everything in my shop is 25% off today and tomorrow with code BIRTHDAY43
And since I clearly like to make things easy and obvious… I grouped the best sellers below.

Quick note before you go.
I’ve been having SO MUCH FUN with my recent podcast series on The Six Types of Working Genius.
If you want to check out the book I’ve been referencing, here it is (this is an affiliate link): The 6 Types of Working Genius: A Better Way to Understand Your Gifts, Your Frustrations, and Your Team
If you haven’t jumped into the podcast series yet, check out Episode 79 first for the Intro. Episode 80 explains the 6 types and in Episode 81 I go into how we can apply these to our studios.
This week, I’ll be applying it to our students and us as musicians, and then I’ll have a bonus conversation with Andrea Miller where we compare how differently we approach things. It’s simply fascinating.
Curious about your working genius? You can get your assessment here (nope, no affiliation for me, I just think it is super cool) - www.workinggenius.com
Alright, I’ll leave you with this.
Know what you want, say it clearly, and yes, send the link (and then hopefully you get the necklace)
At least, that is what will work for me for now. ;)
Thanks for being here. You guys make this so much fun.
Cheers to another year with all of you,
Jaci
