Scrappy Piano Teachers

Aug 19th

Hey Teacher Friend,

This week on The Scrappy Piano Teacher I’m talking about volunteering as a teacher.

It’s something that can feel heavy, especially when life already feels full. I share a bit about how volunteering has looked different for me in different seasons. I also share ways to contribute, even if life is limiting in this season.

Sometimes giving back is as simple as sharing a post or sending a thank you message to someone who is doing the heavy lifting.

Other times it means showing up for a local event, serving on a committee, or mentoring another teacher.

No matter how big or small, it all matters.

If you’ve been thinking about how to balance giving to your community while protecting your own time and energy, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

You can watch it on YouTube here:

Scrappy Shop News and a Little Gift for You

I have been busy moving resources from my old site over to www.scrappypianoteacher.com and I am so excited to finally share them with you!

Some of the things you will find in the shop are a Fall Bundle packed with fun beginner activities like listening sheets and symbol hunts, plus a copy of my Halloween rote/prereading storybook, Scaredy Dog. Right now, the original version is on sale and here’s the best part… when the revised edition with a real artist’s illustrations is ready, anyone who purchases now will automatically receive the updated studio license version for free.

And to celebrate back to school, I also created a little 'thank you'

You can use the coupon code BACK2SCHOOL for $5 off any purchase in my little resource shop. The coupon is good until August 26th.

And with that, there is just one more resource I want to share. If you’ve been considering a studio management program, My Music Staff is the one I use and love. They’ve given me a special link for you to try it free for 60 days (instead of the usual 30): mymusicstaff.com/scrappypianoteacher.

Thanks for being here each week and for being part of this scrappy little teacher community. I appreciate you all and as usual, I would love to hear any thoughts you have on volunteering and what you love (and maybe what you don't love) about your local organizations!

Speak soon!
