Scrappy Piano Teachers

Jan 8th (is it really 2026?!)

Hey Teacher Friend,

Before anything else, I want to invite you into something fun.

Ask Me Anything for the podcast I am putting together an upcoming Scrappy Snippet that will be entirely based on your questions. Teaching, studio life, burnout, policies, group lessons, scheduling, mindset, life in general, any of it.

If I answer your question on the podcast, I will be sure to offer a shoutout, or you can stay anonymous too (I am cool with either one)

New This Week: All About Analytics!

Ahhh, numbers. I know. Not exactly the most exciting part of studio life. But when you look at them through a microbusiness lens, they can be surprisingly empowering.

If you want a low pressure way to start, check out the latest episode where I talk through what your studio analytics can actually teach you and how to use that information without feeling overwhelmed.

Coming Up For January

January 12 - Jaci Peruses Piano Teacher Facebook Posts

That's right, I take a look and talk through what I am noticing from a professional, human perspective. If you want a notification when it premieres on YouTube, click here, or keep an eye out for the episode to drop on all podcasts platforms on Monday.

January 19 - Digital Organization with Amy Chaplin

A timely, fun and practical episode with Amy Chaplin all about digital organization for teachers. This was a fun conversation, and I think you all will enjoy what Amy has to say.

January 26 - The Ask Me Anything Scrappy Snippet

This one will be using the questions you submit in the form above, so be sure to get them in soon! I will refer to this form throughout the year for future snippets, so keep them coming :)

Quick Peek Into My Studio This Month

January in my studio is intentionally gentle. We settle back into routine, rebuild momentum, and keep expectations realistic.

One thing we do start revisiting right away (also, my absolute favorite) is our Happy Birthday Project! 🎉🎂🎈

Every February we have a big group week birthday party with balloons, cupcakes, and performances. Each student plays a memorized version of Happy Birthday that they have built themselves over the years, adding harmonies and personal twists as they grow.

The main resource that guides this work is Amy Chaplin’s Happy Birthday by Ear, and she has recently updated it. The update is excellent and absolutely packed with value for the cost.

And if you want to hear how I run our Happy Birthday parties and projects, you can listen to a podcast episode I recorded last year here: My Studio Wide Happy Birthday Project

Thanks again for being here, I am looking forward to an exciting 2026 with you all!

Talk soon,

Jaci

Keep Teaching, Keep Loving, Keep Practicing - Love Always, Jaci
