Is it really only April? Because friends, I think I had THE meltdown for 2025.
I want to share something real with you this week.
I recently hit that wall we all unfortunately become familiar with at times - burnout, imposter syndrome, the whole messy mix. And while I’m doing better now, I had a moment where I truly wondered: “Should I even be doing this?”
I may have even priced out my digital pianos.
But here’s what surprised me…
Even in that fog, my studio didn’t fall apart. I even managed to market, fill, and start up an introductory group class for these last weeks of the school year. Emails still got answered. Students were being prepped for the recitals. Parents were still happy. I am pretty sure absolutely no one outside of my home had a clue based on studio performance.
Why? Because past-me had built systems - SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) - that held everything together when I couldn’t.
This week’s podcast is a reflection on that season, the meltdown, and the systems that saved me. I’m also walking you through what an SOP is and how to build your own, even if you’re a one-person studio. (spoiler alert: I am a one-person studio, and these SOPs make it seem like I have a team when I don't)
Here’s what I have for you:
Standard Operating Procedures Workbook.pdf
This is a fillable workbook designed to help you write out 5 core systems in your studio: the repeatable tasks that run in the background but drain your mental energy if they’re not documented.
It includes:
- A completed example SOP
- Templates to walk you through your own
- Prompts to help you reflect, simplify, and stay organized
- Bonus ideas for organizing and automating your systems

And if you’re ready to go deeper - to streamline your studio with even more detailed systems, refine your tuition structure, and create policies that actually support your life, The Music Studio Bootcamp registration is open AND there are only 4 days left to register and receive a free post-consultation with me.
It’s a 3-day deep dive into building a studio that pretty much runs itself, so all you have to do is show up to teach. If you are ready, join us here.
Space is limited so the sooner you save your seat the better.
Thanks for being here and doing the work that matters!
